Kamikaze
122 x 80 cms
Acrylics on Fabric on Board
The only clue to the deceiving nature of this painting is in the name. The image of cherry blossoms in their
beautiful yet passing nature is highly significant in Japanese culture. In the same way that the older flower
paintings are really about death, this one is pretty much about thesame subject matter. Of course - some
of the kamikaze planes that crashed into American warships were named"Cherry Blossom". Not so
cryptic after all.
